Summer Riding Camps
Paramount will have four Summer Riding Camps in 2019.
July 8 - 12
July 15 - 19
July 29 - August 2
August 19 - 23
CAMP SCHEDULE AND PROGRAM
Camps starts at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 4:00 p.m. The cost is $495. We have 10 students per camp and our Certified Instructors have 3 volunteer helpers to assist with the students.
Each student has a horse to care for and ride during the week. We have a riding lesson in the morning after tacking up — usually from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. We eat lunch after untacking and feeding our horses. Around 1:00 p.m. we start tacking up and getting ready for our afternoon ride. In the afternoon, we ride for about an hour. This is followed by a review of the morning lesson and a game incorporating the skills learned in the morning. In the afternoon, we also go over stable management, horse care, course design, and sometimes I get creative and do a craft. Camp is for all levels — we adjust our lessons according to the skill level of the students.
The July 15 camp is very close to our Jumping the Heat competition — a great week to prepare and practice if you plan on showing.
